ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following:
• Support HUSD Vision, Mission and Goals.
• Responsible for the cleaning of the facility on a daily basis. This includes: cleaning windows, dusting, sweeping and mopping hard surface floors, vacuuming carpeted areas, sinks, toilets, hallways, walls, desks, and chairs. Cleans cafeteria floor after lunch.
• Removes trash from classrooms, outdoor receptacles, and cafeteria and takes out to dumpster.
• Secures campus doors and gates at end of day.
• Cleans up biohazards in accordance with prescribed procedures.
• Conducts thorough and more detailed cleaning of facility during school breaks and summer.
• Sets up and takes down equipment needed for sporting events and other campus events.
• Due to the potential for access to confidential information, it is absolutely mandatory that this
position safeguard and maintain the confidentiality of the information stored and discussed in the areas for which this position has access.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS
• Supervisory experience preferred.
• Effective communicator who works harmoniously with children and adults.
• Good physical condition with an emphasis on sight and hearing. Must be able to work at a fast pace and walk a substantial distance (depending on the campus) during shift.
• First Aid Trained preferred.
• Ability to pass background and reference checking as stipulated by District standards.
• Valid IVP Fingerprint Clearance card
• Ability to analyze minor problems and repairs. Ability to perform general light maintenance
• Proficiency in the use of custodial equipment and cleaning chemicals
• Ability to instruct and assist employees in the correct procedures regarding all aspects of cleaning/sanitizing of a school campus.
• Ability to establish and maintain effective and cooperative working relationships with Plant Foreman and Principal
• Ability to organize and plan ahead; must be able to communicate effectively both orally and in writing
• Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to speak effectively before groups of employees or vendors.
• Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out written or verbal instructions.
• A valid driver's license and/or a CDL, if driving is required as part of your position description. The District shall be entitled to review your driving record periodically with the Arizona Department of Motor Vehicles;
PHYSICAL DEMANDS

The employee is regularly required to perform the following duties:
• Moving about on foot with minimal rest.
• Occasionally remain in a seated position or remain on one’s feet in an upright position at a location without moving about.
• Raising or lowering objects from one level to another from 25 – 50 lbs.
• Exerting force upon an object so that the object moves away from the force or towards the force.
• Frequently required to position body to perform cleaning duties by bending body downward and forward at the waist often requiring full use of the lower extremities and back muscles, bending body downward and forward by bending legs and spine.
• Maintaining body equilibrium to prevent falling when walking, standing, crouching on narrow slippery surfaces.
• Occasionally ascending or descending
TERM OF EMPLOYMENT: Full-Time Position – 12 Months, Monday - Friday 8 hours a day
TOTAL PAID HOLIDAYS: 21
