Job Overview
We are seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated Community Education Program Lead to oversee and coordinate educational programs and activities. In this role, you will lead a team, ensure program excellence, and create a dynamic, engaging environment for children. Your leadership will drive the success of our community education initiatives and support our organizational goals.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Program Leadership: Lead the planning, development, and implementation of community education programs and activities.
- Team Management: Supervise and support the Community Education Activity Assistants, and Student Workers providing guidance and feedback.
- Activity Coordination: Ensure that all activities are prepared, organized, and executed smoothly. Oversee the setup and cleanup of activities.
- Student Engagement: Foster a fun, stimulating, and educational environment for children, making sure that activities are both enjoyable and effective.
- Behavior Oversight: Monitor student behavior to ensure a safe and respectful environment. Implement strategies to address behavioral issues.
- Field Trip Management: Coordinate and participate in field trips ensuring all logistical details are managed effectively.
- Parent and Guardian Communication: Engage with parents and guardians to provide updates on program activities and address any concerns or questions.
- Collaboration: Work closely with the Community Education Supervisor to align programs with organizational goals and make necessary adjustments for continuous improvement.
- Regulatory Compliance: Ensure that all programs adhere to HUSD rules, policies and regulations.
- Campus Maintenance: Oversee campus cleanliness and assist with general maintenance as needed.
- Confidentiality: Safeguard and maintain the confidentiality of sensitive student and program information.
- Additional Duties: Perform other tasks as assigned to enhance the effectiveness of the Community Education Department.
Qualifications and Requirements:
- Education: High School Diploma (or GED).
- Experience: Minimum of 2 years of experience in program coordination or a related role, with experience in a licensed childcare facility or school setting preferred.
- Skills: Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills. Ability to work collaboratively with a diverse team and engage effectively with students.
- References: Provide three letters of reference.
- Background Check: Ability to pass background and reference checks as per District standards.
- Ability to pass background and reference checking as stipulated by District standards.
- Valid Department of Public Safety (DPS) IVP fingerprint clearance card.
Additional Requirements (Before First Day):
- Proof of immunizations for measles, mumps, rubella, diphtheria, and pertussis.
- Current First Aid and CPR certifications.
Physical Demands
The following physical demands are representative of what must be met to successfully perform the essential functions of this role:
- Communication: Frequent interaction with parents, students, and staff, including exchanging accurate information. Excellent customer service and communication skills. Must have working knowledge of state licensing requirements (staff ratios and what qualifications are required for staff). Must be patient with children.
- Student Interaction: Ability to bend, kneel, sit on the floor, and move around to interact with students effectively.
- Mobility: Must be able to move about, remain on feet, and supervise students.
- Lifting: Ability to raise or lower objects weighing between 25-50 lbs.
- Agility: Climb and descend small ladders with ease.
- Visual Acuity: Must have clear vision to monitor and engage with students effectively.
TERM OF EMPLOYMENT: Full-Time Position - 12 months Monday - Friday
SALARY CLASSIFICATION: Appropriate salary placement on the Classified Hourly Salary Schedule.
EVALUATION: Performance of this job will be evaluated by Site Administrator and according to District Policy.
TOTAL PAID HOLIDAYS: 21
