ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Support HUSD Vision, Mission and Goals
  2. Assist in preparation and clean-up of children's activities.
  3. Aid students in completion of planned activities.
  4. Monitor children’s behavior and ensure continued safety while in the program.
  5. Assist with and attend field trips (including pool days) during summer camp.
  6. Interact positively with parents and/or guardians.
  7. Implement and follow all rules and statutes set forth by DHS and DES.
  8. Assist with campus cleaning as needed.
  9. Due to the potential for access to confidential student information, it is absolutely mandatory that this position safeguard and maintain the confidentiality of the information stored and discussed in the school.
  10. Performs other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS:

  1. Applicants must be 16 years of age or older.
  2. Enrollment in High School (Counselor or Teacher recommendation letter required).
  3. One (1) additional letter of reference.
  4. Ability to pass background and reference checking as stipulated by District standards.
  5. IVP Finger Print Clearance Card.

Additional Qualifications Needed Prior to First Day of Work:

  1. Proof of immunizations against measles, mumps, rubella, diphtheria, and pertussis.
  2. TB Test Clearance within the last 6 months.
  3. Current First Aid and CPR Certifications recommended but not needed.

The employee is regularly required to perform the following duties:

  1. Frequent communication with parents, students, and staff including the exchange of accurate information.
  2. Frequent interaction with students by bending body downward and forward by bending spine at the waist, requiring full use of the lower extremities and back muscles, bending legs at knee to come to rest on knees, or sitting on the floor requiring to resume an upright position.
  3. Moving about on foot and remaining on one’s feet in an upright position while supervising student(s).
  4. Raising or lowering an object from one level ranging from 25-50 lbs.
  5. Exerting force upon an object so that the object moves away from the force or towards the force.
  6. Ascending and descending small ladder with agility.
  7. Required to have visual acuity to perform activities with student(s).
