Join our Community Education team as a Student Worker, where you’ll gain valuable experience while contributing to a vibrant and supportive learning environment. Kids Club is an after school, Monday through Friday from dismissal to 6pm. During the intersessions Kids Club is open from 6:30am to 6pm. This role involves assisting with various activities, ensuring student safety, and supporting the overall success of our programs. Ideal for students seeking hands-on experience and the opportunity to make a difference in their community.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Support Organizational Goals: Promote and align with the vision, mission, and goals of HUSD.
- Activity Preparation: Help prepare for and clean up after children’s activities, ensuring everything is ready for a smooth program.
- Student Assistance: Aid students in completing planned activities and tasks.
- Behavior Monitoring: Observe and manage children’s behavior to maintain a safe and respectful environment.
- Field Trip Participation: Assist with and attend field trips, including pool days during summer camp, ensuring all activities run smoothly.
- Parent Interaction: Communicate positively with parents and guardians to provide updates and address any concerns.
- Regulatory Compliance: Follow and implement all rules, and policies set by HUSD
- Campus Maintenance: Assist with campus cleaning and maintenance as needed.
- Confidentiality: Safeguard and maintain the confidentiality of sensitive student information.
- Additional Duties: Perform other tasks as assigned to support the Community Education Department.
Qualifications and Requirements:
- Education: Enrollment in High School is required. A recommendation letter from a counselor or teacher is needed.
- References: Provide 3 letters of reference.
- Background Check: Ability to pass background and reference checks as per District standards.
- FPCC: Valid Department of Public Safety (IVP) fingerprint clearance card.
Additional Requirements (Before First Day):
- Proof of immunizations for measles, mumps, rubella, diphtheria, and pertussis.
- Current First Aid and CPR certifications recommended.
Physical Demands:
The following physical demands are representative of what must be met to successfully perform the essential functions of this role:
- Communication: Frequent interaction with students, and staff, including the exchange of accurate information.
- Student Interaction: Ability to bend, kneel, sit on the floor, and move around to interact with students effectively.
- Mobility: Must be able to move about, remain on feet, and supervise students.
- Lifting: Ability to raise or lower objects weighing between 25-50 lbs.
- Agility: Climb and descend small ladders with ease.
- Visual Acuity: Must have clear vision to monitor and engage with students effectively.
Community Education Activity Assistants will work their regularly scheduled hours throughout the school year, however, the expectation is that you are available to work during fall, winter, spring and summer breaks. |
