Description

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following: 

 

  • Supports HUSD Vision, Mission and Goals.
  • Install, configure, repair, and service mechanical and/or electronic locking devices, technology systems including security cameras, and other special systems.
  • Responsible for repairs/preventive maintenance to the special systems as needed for the district facilities.
  • Responsible for inventory of all equipment and supplies needed for maintenance and repair of these systems.
  • Monitor system performance and ensure all systems comply with district policies, state, and federal regulations.
  • Inspects district systems on a regular basis to ensure systems are functioning properly.
  • Reports any damage or other maintenance issues to supervisor.
  • Inspect and schedule service for elevators.
  • Work closely with the IT department to integrate special systems with existing network infrastructure.
  • Provide training for district/site staff on special systems use and communicate effectively with stakeholders regarding system statues and any disruptions to service.
  • Interface with outside contractors on new construction/remodels to ensure proper installation of special systems.
  • Work within the budget set by management.
  • Complete all work orders in a timely manner.
  • Other duties as assigned by supervisor.

 

QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS 

  • Minimum three to five years of Special systems experience preferred.
  • Knowledge of troubleshooting building codes in an education environment.
  • Knowledge of fire alarm and security systems software
  • Proficient in reading and understanding blueprints and schematics.
  • Proficient in use of Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel).
  • Position requires physical demands like lifting and standing.
  • Possession of a valid Arizona Driver’s License required.
  • No convictions for felonies or crimes against children.
  • Valid IVP Fingerprint Clearance Card.

The employee is regularly required to perform the following duties:

  • Frequent communication with Government officials and staff including the exchange of accurate information.
  • Moving about on foot with minimal rest.
  • Occasionally remain in a seated position or remain on one’s feet in an upright position at a location without moving about.
  • Raising or lowering objects from one level to another from 25 – 75 lbs.
  • Exerting force upon an object so that the object moves away from the force or towards the force.
  • Frequently required to position body to perform maintenance duties by bending body downward and forward at the waist often requiring full use of the lower extremities and back muscles, bending body downward and forward by bending legs and spine.
  • Occasionally ascending or descending ladders and stairs using feet and legs or hands and arms.
  • Extending hand(s) and arm(s) in any direction.
  • Maintaining body equilibrium to prevent falling when walking, standing, crouching on narrow slippery surfaces.
  • Seizing, holding, grasping, turning, or otherwise working with hand or hands.
  • Clarity of vision at various ranges up to 20 feet including observing an area that can be seen up and down or to the right or left while eyes are fixed on a given point.
  • Ability to judge distances and spatial relationships so as to see objects where and as they actually are.
  • Exposure to the following environmental conditions including weather, moving mechanical parts, electric shock, vibration, extreme heat, noise, and toxic chemicals.

TERM OF EMPLOYMENT:  Full-Time Position - 12 months Monday - Friday - 40 hours a week

 

SALARY CLASSIFICATION:  Appropriate salary placement on the Classified Hourly Salary Schedule.

 

EVALUATION:  Performance of this job will be evaluated by Site Administrator and according to District Policy.

 

 

Min & Max: $23.89 - DOE

 

TOTAL PAID HOLIDAYS: 21
